1 day agoThe Lebanese government has asked the Foreign Minister to summon Iran's Charge d'Affaires in Beirut over the remarks made by Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who had said Tehran is ready to negotiate with Paris on concrete measures to implement UNSCR 1701 in Lebanon.
Lebanese caretaker PM Najib Mikati had said the remarks were "an unacceptable attempt to establish an illegal guardianship over Lebanon and a blatant interference in Lebanon's affairs."
