Iran’s nuclear program has been “permanently” set back by recent US airstrikes, though Tehran could attempt to restart enrichment at another site, US President Donald Trump said on Friday aboard Air Force One. Iranian authorities this week confirmed that Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris have been indicted for spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, conspiracy to overthrow the regime, and “corruption on earth”—a capital offense under Iranian law. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said the charges were “totally unjustified and baseless” if confirmed, and repeated France’s demand for their immediate release.
